Château d'Or et de Gueules

Château d'Or et de Gueules is a family-run estate located in the Costières de Nîmes appellation, near the Camargue. Farmed organically with a biodynamic-inspired approach, it benefits from Mediterranean and maritime influences, producing wines that are both powerful and fresh, with a strong sense of terroir.

History
Château d’Or et de Gueules is rooted in a strong family heritage and a constant pursuit of excellence, led by Diane de Puymorin and Mathieu Chatain, now joined by their daughter Chloé, an oenologist. The name of the estate comes from Diane’s family crest and reflects the identity of the wines: “Or” (gold) symbolizing richness and southern Rhône typicity, and “Gueules” (red in heraldry) representing character, controlled power, and elegance.
The estate embodies a balance between tradition and modernity, combining respect for craftsmanship with an innovative approach to viticulture. Located on a terroir of rolled pebbles and clay, and influenced by the nearby Camargue, it benefits from a unique microclimate that brings together ripeness and freshness.
The choice of organic and biodynamic farming (Demeter certified) quickly became a natural step, going beyond certification to reflect a true philosophy of life. The estate is deeply committed to biodiversity, with initiatives such as tree planting, sheep grazing, and the absence of chemical inputs. In the cellar, this precision continues through parcel-by-parcel vinification, the use of indigenous yeasts, and gentle extraction methods to best express the terroir.
The essence of Château d’Or et de Gueules is simple: to craft wines with personality, true to both their terroir and the family’s vision.
