Domaine du Murinais
Domaine du Murinais is a family-run estate located in the Crozes-Hermitage appellation in the northern Rhône Valley. The estate is farmed organically and focuses on a natural approach in both vineyard and cellar. It is known for its pure and expressive wines, faithfully reflecting the terroir and freshness of the appellation.
History
Domaine du Murinais, whose origins date back to 1768, is a family estate with a long tradition of viticulture on stony terroirs. In 1998, after studying oenology, Luc Tardy took over the estate and modernized it while respecting its heritage. Vinification is carried out parcel by parcel using gravity, followed by ageing in underground cellars. Today, the estate covers 17 hectares in Crozes-Hermitage, farmed with respect for nature, with manual harvesting and careful grape selection.
Vinification
The estate follows a clear philosophy: to produce wines that faithfully express their terroir.
The vineyards are planted on clay-limestone terraces with good exposure, allowing for a balance between ripeness and freshness. Certified organic, the estate applies a precise and respectful approach both in the vineyard and in the cellar.
The white wines, made from Marsanne and Roussanne, are noted for their freshness, floral finesse and aromatic purity, while the reds offer an elegant expression of Syrah, focusing on balance rather than power.
AOC Crozes-Hermitage
Crozes-Hermitage is the largest appellation in the northern Rhône and is known for its elegant and approachable style. The reds, made from Syrah, combine fruit, spice and finesse, while the whites based on Marsanne and Roussanne stand out for their freshness and aromatic complexity. The diversity of terroirs allows for a wide range of styles, from light and fruity to more structured wines.
