Le Jardin des Moines 2024 is an organic white wine of precision and purity — juicy, refined, and expressive — born from Viognier vines on granite-rich slopes in an unexpectedly “northern” terroir, offering a unique balance between freshness, minerality, and ripe fruit.
Le Jardin des Moines 2024 is an organic Viognier from the granite and sandy soils of Ambierle, within the IGP Urfé — a region where Viognier is still rarely planted. Located further north than its traditional home in the Rhône Valley, it produces a surprisingly bright and refined style here. The combination of altitude, southeast exposure, and well-draining soils gives the wine freshness and precision without sacrificing ripeness. Thanks to gentle vinification with indigenous yeasts and a short aging in stainless steel, this Viognier presents itself with purity, revealing aromas of white peach, fresh apricot, and a subtle mineral note.

Food pairing: Le Jardin des Moines 2024 pairs perfectly with light, fresh dishes with delicate flavors. It shines alongside fish terrines, tender veal dishes with creamy mushroom sauce, and mild goat cheeses that beautifully complement its fruit and refinement.
The estate
At the foot of the Monts de la Madeleine, Domaine des Palais works with dedication and quiet craftsmanship. The vineyards are cared for as a living landscape, with attention to biodiversity and the natural rhythms of nature. Each parcel and each grape is given the space to express itself.
With only 1,200 bottles produced, Le Jardin des Moines is a small-scale, artisanal cuvée — the result of careful choices in both vineyard and cellar, and a desire to bring a modest yet characterful terroir to life in the glass.

The grapes for Le Jardin des Moines are harvested by hand at their optimal moment of ripeness. Direct pressing is followed by cold static settling, which naturally clarifies the juice and preserves the most delicate aromas.
Fermentation takes place exclusively with wild (indigenous) yeasts at low temperature, allowing the fresh and fruity expression of Viognier to fully reveal itself. The wine is then aged for four months in stainless steel, without any oak influence, to preserve its purity and vibrancy.
No tricks, no excess: this wine chooses precision, clarity, and authenticity.
