The estate
Domaine Camille & Laurent Schaller is a family business located in Préhy, in the heart of the Chablis region. Laurent and his son Camille cultivate 25 hectares of vineyards and, as small winegrowers, focus on quality over quantity.
They grow three grape varieties: Chardonnay, Aligoté, and Pinot Noir. Their vineyards are located in the villages of Préhy, Courgis, Chablis, Poilly-sur-Serein, Chichée (Premier Cru Vaucoupin), and Beine (Premier Cru Vau de Vey).
The vineyards are located on the typical Kimmeridgian soil of Chablis, a geological terroir consisting of a mixture of clay and limestone, rich in fossilized shellfish. This unique soil type was formed during the Jurassic period, approximately 150 to 155 million years ago. This limestone-rich subsoil contributes to the pronounced minerality and freshness of the wines, a characteristic that is appreciated worldwide in Chablis wines.
The Schaller family practices sustainable viticulture and works the soil to avoid the use of herbicides. Since 2020, the estate has been certified with Haute Valeur Environnementale level 3 (HVE 3), underscoring their commitment to environmentally friendly practices.
The wines of Domaine Schaller are known for their freshness, finesse, and pronounced minerality, perfectly reflecting the unique terroir of the Chablis region.

The wine is aged for 10 months, 20% in oak barrels and 80% in stainless steel tanks.
This aging in oak barrels adds subtle complexity and depth to the wine, while stainless steel tanks preserve its freshness and minerality.
This combination of aging methods creates an elegant balance between the wine's fruity and mineral elements, while the subtle wood influences further enhance the structure and refinement of the Premier Cru Vaucoupin. The result is a complex, refined wine with excellent length and depth.
