Belle Lurette 2023 is a red wine that is both balanced and exciting, concentrated and light, tight and juicy, the fruit of very old Carignans over 70 years old, deeply rooted in the schist. It embodies a rare blend of tradition, precision, and modernity. A wine with character...

Belle Lurette 2023 is a sincere, fleshy wine, born from very old Carignans rooted in the slate of northern Faugères. It is juicy, has a fine texture and is very lively. It reflects the bond between the vine, the winemaker's hand, and the nature of the place. A lively, engaging red wine, made in the spirit of contemporary craftsmanship, but with the imprint of a centuries-old heritage.

Enjoy it around 14-15°C with generous, flavorful dishes.

The estate

Domaine de Cébène was founded by Brigitte Chevalier, a former wine merchant from Bordeaux, and was born out of her desire to create authentic wines from a strong terroir. After leaving Bordeaux for the Languedoc, she chose the schist-covered heights of Faugères, convinced of the unique potential of these soils. At an altitude of 300 meters, facing the Tramontane wind, she cultivates her vines organically and biodynamically, using a natural, artisanal approach that reflects her demanding standards, her intuition, and her quest for purity.

  • The Belle Lurette grapes are harvested by hand (no tractors are used in the old vineyards) and then transferred to the cellar, which is fed by gravity and dug into the slate.

Fermentation begins naturally, thanks to a “pied de cuve” made a few days earlier from grapes grown on the estate. Belle Lurette is vinified without adding sulphites, partly in whole bunches, and undergoes a long maceration (more than 3 to 4 weeks) with slow, gentle extractions.

The wine is aged for 10 to 11 months in stainless steel vats and matured on the lees to reveal all its tactile dimension, minerality and aromatic freshness.
